INTUMESCENT FIRE AND SMOKE SEALS
DESCRIPTION
Envirograf® Product 100 is available in two styles: original and new push-fit. Both styles of fire and smoke seals consist of a plastic holder containing an intumescent fire seal and either brush or rubber smoke seals. The original style is also available as a plastic holder fitted with an intumescent fire seal only, for use when a smoke seal is not required. However, as smoke kills before flame, it is always advisable to fit intumescent seals with smoke seals. The original style is supplied in 1050mm or 2100mm lengths, backed with self-adhesive tape for easy fitting in rebates, whereas the new push-fit seals are supplied in 2100mm lengths only and they simply push into place with no need for adhesive or other fixings, making them ideal as replacement seals. The standard colours of the plastic holders are brown and white, but other colours may be available (please check availability before specifying or placing an order).
USE
Used for fitting to doors, door frames, and windows. Once fitted, the plastic facing of the seals can be painted, although the brush or rubber smoke seal must NOT be painted.
PERFORMANCE
This product has been tested in accordance with BS476 Part 23 (1987). An integrity of up to
69 minutes was achieved. Product 100 has also been included in many successful tests with
BS476 Parts 20 and 22 (1987), achieving an integrity of 40 and 68 minutes protection. Also
tested to European Standard EN1634-1 (2000) for 68 minutes.
ORDERING REFERENCES
Brush smoke seals, where fitted, are 5mm standard (black, brown, grey, or white)
Standard range holders are brown or white (other colours may be available – please ask)
NB: Approximately 2mm of seal is contained inside the holder. Brush with fin is ½mm higher than
brush with no fin.
